I’ve been out of touch for a few months. I apologize for not writing sooner. I finished Rescue, the 3rd story in the After the Fall series, and, after weeks of polishing and proofing, finally got it to market. I have it intro-priced at only $.99. The book is already bumping into the Top 100 in the post-apocalyptic and dystopian categories–that after only one day on the market. It bodes well for the tale.
Of course, if you follow me on facebook, you’ll have been kept up to date on my labors and progress. You can connect here.
If you haven’t yet read the 2nd book in the series, Uprising, you should purchase it right away. I’m going to raise the price back to $3.99 in a few days. If you miss it, I can assure it’s still worth the full price.
Now I shift gears back to writing. There is quite a difference between the writing of a story and the polishing/refining of one. I enjoy both, to be honest, but switching really involves changing my thinking. It’s now back to pondering plot themes, all incomplete at this stage, imagining where they might lead as a possible story progresses in my head. Sometimes a beer or two helps when I’m deep into potential plots.
Once I get enough for a good start, the story starts to take over and drive the direction. Generally many of the scenes and some of the characters were never in my mind until I got into the story. It develops a life of its own, an insistence on going a certain way, that I’m learning to trust and follow. I’ll keep you updated on my progress.
